Marian Tux from Straubing/Germany is the new World Champion of trotting amateur drivers!
The 63-year-old sportsman secured with two wins on the grass track of Motukarara in New Zealand the World Cup title. Before the final Tux was already 13 points behind the leader. The European champion 2011 won at the end with 87 points, just ahead of the Spanish driver Damian Oliver Oliver (85) and Jaap Terstal (81) from the Netherlands.
Local hero Steve Phillips (78), who led sovereign the standings before the last race-day, fell back to fourth. Tux is to Edelbert Ohmer 1984 and Xaver Schachtner 1998, the third German world champion trotter of the history. "The entire World Cup was huge and a unique experience for me.
"This is the capstone of my career," Tux said...
