THE GENTLEMEN DRIVER
The horse has always been a good friend of the
humans and also in modern times his
contribution remains of great utility and
importance. He is no more a working instrument
or a mean of transport, but a privileged
companion with whom one can get in touch with
nature, which is a strong need in the present
times. The horse now means ecology, but is
also a friend for life and a clever activity
for the leisure time.
And, last but not least, a wonderful companion
of a real sport activity.
These are the needs horseracing responds to
with the category of the Gentlemen Drivers
(the amateur drivers who practise agonistic
harness). The amateurs have the task to
colligatehorseracing with the rest of the
society, where each one of them operates in
his own profession, having therefore the
possibility of spread his passion for the
horse and for the trot races.
THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Within this activity every year the Gentlemen
Drivers World Championship takes place, this
year it will be held in Italy.
The 2006 edition of the Series is organised by

co-operation of UNIRE (the Italian public
board in charge of horseracing government).
The best Gentlemen Drivers in the world will
be in Italy to compete in the Championship.
The races will be the most exciting part of an
event that will also be a social and cultural
occasion, with the purpose of promoting

order to encourage them to discover the

how the slogan of the first national Federnat
meeting 25 years ago said, "ecology, leisure
time and sport".
