Finnish League of Amateur Drivers
...is a competition
organized every year by the Central Association of Horse Owners in
Finland, together with race courses and the central trotting
association Hippos. The competition has been organized since 1991.
The period of competition is 1st of April to 11th September. Races
may be organized for both warm blood and cold blood horses. One
race track may not organize more than five races during on year.
At the end of the competition, the 11 most successful drivers
together with the previous year’s champion participate in finals,
taking place in Jyväskylä in the end of September. Altogether
there are qualification races, where each driver can attempt to
get qualification points.

The past week three races took place, in Kokemäki, Joensuu and
Oulu.In Kokemäki, Ingrid Hagman with Rosi’s Cabarello won the
2100 meter race with time 17,8a, while Olga Sehlova and Floppy Jet
finished 2nd, and Sipi Erkkilä and Kaiserzone came 3rd.
The following day in Joensuu it was time for cold bloods. Pertti
Holopainen won the 1640 m race with Hatax (time 26,4a), 2nd was
Jari Puhakka and Loonasta, 3rd Harri Partanen and Jäävin Viljo.
The same day an amateur race also took place in Oulu, where Markus
Porokka won the warm blood race with Boulder Napoleon (17,7a), 2nd
Jouni Yypänaho and Jison, 3rd Jari Nurmi and Stone Capes Edi.
The next races are organized on 8th June in Vieremä, 11th June in
Jyväskylä, 15th June in Pori, 20th June in Helsinki, 21st June in
Mikkeli, 25th June again in Jyväskylä, 26th June in Kajaani and
29th of
October in Jyväskylä.
