Fred Handelaar, representing his
native Holland with his orange silks with
their red, white and blue sash, is one of
the most successful amateur Dutch drivers
ever. He is currently Holland’s Amateur
Driving Champion—a title he has achieved 17
times! As well, he’s also been crowned the
European Amateur Driving Champion on two
occasions and has over 512 career victories
to his credit.
Handelaar represented the Netherlands in
World Cup competition in 1988 in the USA and
Canada; in 1998 in Canada; in Demark in 2002
and in 2006 in Italy. He’s also captured the
German Amateur Driving Championship in
Berlin twice. While he makes his living as a
banker, it’s the horses for whom Handelaar
obviously has a passion. |
