Tamas Kelemen carries the red, white and
green silks of Hungary, an Eastern European
nation, where harness racing and race wagering
are controlled by a state-owned organization.
While thoroughbred racing is restricted to
racing from April to November, trotters race all
year long, every Saturday and on numerous
Wednesdays.
Kelemen won the Hungarian Amateur Driving title
in 2005—winning 44 percent of his races that
year--and 2006, when he won 39 percent of his
starts. In 2007 he finished fifth among all
Hungarian harness driving amateurs, scoring a
6-8-8 record from 36 starts. Keleman has driven
in eight races in 2008, with one victory to his
credit. He drives at Hungary’s Kincsem Park,
that features both flat and harness racing. |
